An angry Chidi Mokeme stormed the contestants’ camp early in the morning by 4:30 am, interrupting their sleep. The reason for his anger? Ikenna, the tribe leader, chose to sleep in another tent, instead of choosing from one of the four tents specially prepared for the top performers in the earlier day’s task. The others decided to abandon their tents after it was invaded by soldier ants.
Chidi queried why GUS warriors would leave their tents for soldier ants. He ordered them to take care of the soldier ant invasion. He also promised to take up the matter during the day’s task.
At the task ground, Chidi informed Ikenna that he was nearly evicted. He however became the very first bearer of the Stump of Shame and Otto was asked to fasten the stump on his leg. Chidi told him it would serve as a painful reminder on the need to adhere to instructions. Ikenna was not permitted to speak to anyone or be spoken to while he was fastened to the Stump of Shame.
The name of the day’s challenge was ‘The Message.’ Contestants were required to memorise the first paragraph of a story and recreate the story verbatim with tiles of scripted wordings. The last sentence contained a riddle which the contestants were required to answer.
Ikenna performed the task with the Stump of Shame attached to his leg.
Chinedu was the first to replicate the paragraph, followed by Noela, Evi and then Otto. Otto was the first to attempt to solve the riddle, but gave his answer as Yellow, even though he knew the answer was Red. He said he opted for Yellow because he could not immediately find the alphabets that make up Red.
Emmanuel got the answer and was asked to use a machete to bring down an object hung on a palm tree.
The contestants with private tents were asked to paint, beautify and personalise them; giving them distinct qualities and making the tents as comfortable as possible.
Emmanuel assumed Tribe leadership and was asked to choose any private tent of his choice and kick out the occupant. He was also to ensure that the contestants adhere to Chidi’s instructions.
Emmanuel kicked Samantha out of her tent. Samantha said she gladly vacated the tent because it was far away from the remaining contestants’ tents.
At the Place of The Talking Drum, Emmanuel formally presented his finding, the army general’s war blade, to Chidi, after revealing it to the contestants.
Chidi then gave them a brief history of Aguleri.
